The upcoming Sony Xperia Z2 has appeared for the second time in an early hands-on video. While the initial two-minute clip focused on the handset’s new user interface, this 12-minute extensive preview showcases other software features as well as its physical design, leaving little uncovered ahead of the handset’s unveiling.

In exactly one week’s time, Samsung will be holding its Unpacked 5 event in Barcelona where it is expected to announce the much-anticipated Galaxy S5. Rumor has it the device will be the first Galaxy smartphone with a super-sharp 2K display, but an early retail listing suggests Samsung will instead be sticking to its trusty 1080p panels for the time being.

After being bombarded with Flappy Bird clones, it appears that both Google Play and the iOS App Store have started rejecting all new apps featuring the word “flappy” in their titles.

The move was publicized by developer Ken Carpenter of Mind Juice Media who took to Twitter to reveal that his game, Flappy Dragon, was rejected during the iTunes authorization process because the “name attempts to leverage a popular app.”

Qualcomm has formally pulled the plug on its Snapdragon 802 chipset. The processor was set to be a slightly improved version of the hugely successful Snapdragon 800, and was designed for televisions and set top boxes. But Qualcomm claims that the demand for the chipset has been too low.

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z was widely popular around the globe for being one of the few high-end, waterproof tablets — despite a limited reach in only select markets around the world. So it’s no surprise that Sony is planning a new model, which is expected to offer the latest Snapdragon 800 processor and Android 4.4 KitKat.
