Sony’s new SmartWatch launched yesterday and had a brief “out of stock” moment. All is well now on the Sony site but you may want to skip the $149.99 price they’re charging for the slightly less painful $117.99 deal being offered by Expansys USA.

Anyone remember the Sony Ericsson LiveView? Well, it’s back! This time it’s simply called the Sony SmartWatch and Sony is hoping it will see a better adoption rate this time around. It’s looking good so far, as Sony just launched the SmartWatch online and it’s already “Temporarily Out Of Stock.” I’m not going to lie, I’ve wanted one of these since it was the “LiveView” but have held off for whatever reason. I’m once again tempted to pick one up as it’s quite a neat little device.
There’s no question mobile cameras have advanced tremendously over the years and they’ve even become a main feature focus for many consumers and manufacturers. One such example is the hype over the HTC One X camera. HTC has made a pretty big deal over their new ImageSense software as well as the custom ImageChip, f/2.0 lens, HDR technology, and super fast capture. We’ve seen a few sample photos, some good, some bad, but what about some real world tests against a couple device also known for their camera prowess?
Owners of the Sony Xperia Play, get your thumbs ready for some beta testing. Tonight, Sony has released a public beta for Ice Cream Sandwich that runs on the Xperia Play. Sure, it was available through custom ROMs, but nothings better than an official release. Sony wants your help testing the software.
The first solely Sony branded smartphone has begun shipping out to retailers and carriers across the globe. The Xperia S marks the first of phones to go out since Sony acquired Ericsson and although the photos still show the Ericsson logo on the back, I have to assume it’s since been removed.
