Sony’s SmartWatch Now Available… Scratch That, Now Temporarily Out Of Stock [Update: Back In Stock]

Anyone remember the Sony Ericsson LiveView? Well, it’s back! This time it’s simply called the Sony SmartWatch and Sony is hoping it will see a better adoption rate this time around. It’s looking good so far, as Sony just launched the SmartWatch online and it’s already “Temporarily Out Of Stock.” I’m not going to lie, I’ve wanted one of these since it was the “LiveView” but have held off for whatever reason. I’m once again tempted to pick one up as it’s quite a neat little device.

The Sony SmartWatch connects to Android 2.1+ devices via Bluetooth and is a simple and convenient way to check text messages, emails, Facebook and Twitter updates, as well as a slew of other things without the need to always reach for your phone. Whether you want to listen to music, or simply check the time, the Sony SmartWatch is exactly that — a SmartWatch. The SmartWatch isn’t as wallet-friendly as I’d like it to be at $149.99 but in its defense, it does a heck of a lot more than your average watch, which incidentally won’t cost you that much less.

Hopefully they’ll be back in stock soon, in the meantime, you can check out all the colorful wristbands you can accessorize with.
