Galaxy-S5-waterproof

One of the best things about the Galaxy S5 is that you can get it wet. Not just a little bit wet, but completely soaking wet. It’s IP67 certified, which means you can literally take it swimming (up to 1 meter deep) or watch YouTube videos in the bath and it’s going to be just fine.

And just in case you were skeptical of Samsung’s claims, check out the video below, which puts the Galaxy S5’s waterproof form factor to the test in a swimming pool — and in a washing machine.

CyanogenMod founder Steve Kondik has been working with OnePlus on the company’s upcoming smartphone for months, and in a new teaser video uploaded to YouTube this week, he finally gets to see the new handset himself for the first time.

Samsung is expected to make operating profits of 8.4 trillion Korean Won in the first quarter of the year, which is approximately $7.9 billion. This is a 4% decline in profits compared to the same period last year, so it’s clear that the company is not having the best of times in the industry.

Samsung has just issued a new update to the Gear Fit smartwatch which fixes the display orientation issue. This update will now allow users to check details on the smartwatch vertically rather than just horizontally from an awkward angle.

 

Samsung-Galaxy-Ace-Style

Samsung today made its new Galaxy Ace Style official after the device popped up in Germany late last week.

It’s a midrange offering that’s expected to be priced at around €200 ($275), and for that you get Android 4.4 KitKat topped with Samsung’s latest “TouchWiz Essence” user interface — the same software that powers the South Korean company’s flagship Galaxy S5.
