Samsung continues to do well in the U.S.

Samsung has once again taken the top spot for mobile market share in the United States after attracting more than a quarter of mobile subscribers. The Korean company claimed 26.3% of the market as of October 2012, but rival Apple is quickly catching up. The iPhone maker saw the highest level of growth among cellphone manufacturers, and managed to overtake LG to take second place.

Verizon has some good news for all you Motorola DROID RAZR HD/MAXX HD owners out there. Beginning next week, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) will begin rolling out in phases. Users will finally be able to take advantage of all the great features introduced in Jelly Bean such as Google Now, expandable notifications, and more.

What’s this? A Motorola device on Verizon being updated to the latest version of Android in a semi-reasonable time frame? I think the universe my implode. Looks like Dennis Woodside was serious when he said this was the “New Motorola” and that they’d be focusing on getting out updates much quicker.

Amazon Wireless is no stranger to deals, and their latest price drops on the RAZR HD and MAXX HD are nothing to overlook. Both colors of the RAZR HD have been dropped down to $129.99 for new customers and $149.99 for those looking to upgrade. If you’re more interested in the battery on steroids, Amazon Wireless has the MAXX HD for $179.99 for new customers and $199.99 for upgrades.

We already heard from Sony today, why not Motorola next? Motorola has made a few changes to their list of devices that are scheduled to receive Android 4.1 and you might find a few surprises.
