Back in February, Google finally released the Google Cast Software Development Kit (SDK) for its first ever cloud streaming dongle, Chromecast, and now at last, we’re beginning to see some really great third-party applications from developers emerge on the Play Store. The latest and most impressive app to launch is called CloudCaster and, as the name suggests, is focused on streaming media stored in the cloud directly to your Chromecast unit.

HTC’s Dot View case for the One (M8) is pretty unique. The case contains a lot of tiny holes in the front that allows users to view limited information by simply double tapping on the front. This includes the weather, missed calls, time and any incoming messages.

Now, Shen Ye, known for his closeness with HTC, has managed to hack the Dot View case app to allow it to display more notifications when using the case. 

Flippypad

A new concept by product designer Samuel Herb shows the vast potential of Google’s Project Ara modular smartphone, which will start hitting the markets in early 2015. This concept appeals to the gamers and shows a hinged controller with a complete set of gaming buttons available on the front along with the traditional R and L buttons on the back of the device.

HTC Software Update

HTC recently started a website which would let users know when the Android 4.4 update for their smartphone is ready. This page has now transitioned into a dedicated Sense 6.0 update page allowing users to keep track of the status of the UI update for their 2013 HTC One series handset which includes the One Max as well as the One Mini.

Google Glass

An update to Google Glass finally brings the much needed support for iMessages on iOS devices. This feature can be enabled via the Bluetooth settings where the users will have to turn on the “Show Notifications” toggle for your connected device.
