Motorola has finally revealed all most of the details of the Moto X after months of leaks, and while the handset looks great and is customizable to a fault, what we really want to know is how its specs stack up against the best smartphones out there.

Specs aren’t everything, but it is important to keep in mind whether the Moto X will still be able to run the best apps after 12-24 months. Here’s a chart that GigaOm cooked up that compares the Moto X’s specs to the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S 4.

Now that the Galaxy S4 is here — in a number (too many) of different forms — we’re all wondering when Samsung’s going to unveil its other big seller, the next-generation Galaxy Note III. We know it will come sometime later this year, but when?

According to one Korean news outlet, citing “industry sources,” we’ll see it on September 4 — two days before the start of IFA 2013 in Berlin — and it will be accompany by “GEAR,” Samsung’s first Android-powered smartwatch.

Samsung has admitted that a Korean PR agency did offer money to app developers to promote a competition on the popular developer question and answer website Stack Overflow. The electronics giant insists that this is “clearly against” its cooperate policy, and says that it cancelled the plan as soon as it was made aware of the situation.

Samsung has begun rolling out its Android 4.2.2 update for the Galaxy S II Plus, much to the bemusement of users with the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Note II. Those devices are still waiting to be upgraded from Android 4.1, and given that they were both flagships last year, it’s a little surprising that they’re still waiting to get the latest version of Jelly Bean.

Verizon Share Everything

Verizon has furtively added another option to its lower-cost smartphone schemes by introducing a 500MB data package for its “Share Everything” plans. These bundles offer a single package of data, unlimited calls, and texts across a number of devices.
