When not even your own employees want to use your smartphone operating system, how are you supposed to win over consumers? That’s the question Microsoft is facing after one of its Xbox employees was caught tweeting from an Android as opposed to one of the company’s own Windows Phone devices.

International LG G2 owners are in for a treat over the coming weeks after LG’s official Twitter account for Saudi Arabia confirmed that the device will get its Android 4.4 KitKat update this month. Those in other markets are expected to receive the update around the same time.

Yesterday, HTC officially announced on Twitter that its former flagship smartphone of 2012, the One X+, and its slightly less impressive brethren, the One X, will not be receiving the much-anticipated Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. That’s right, folks. The handsets will remain on Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5 for the rest of their days. This doesn’t come as a huge surprise, when you consider that these devices only received the 4.2 upgrade in late 2013, around the same time that 4.3 was being pushed out.

Ever since Twitter introduced a limit of 100k tokens, development of third-party Twitter clients has slowed down drastically. This is a huge blow to Android’s app eco-system which even after all these years lacks a Tweetbot competitor.

This might change today with the release of Talon for Twitter, a beautiful and feature-packed Twitter client for Android, created by the developer of Sliding Messaging — Luke Klinker.

On Thursday, January 2, a well-know accurate leaker posted a set of “preliminary” specifications on Twitter for HTC’s upcoming M8, which is expected to be the successor to the Taiwanese company’s flagship smartphone of 2013, and just yesterday a familiar developer published a report which has a close similarity to some of the specs that have been brought to our attention over the course of the past few weeks.
