A notable omission from Google’s list of services that will support Google Cast was Spotify, the biggest music streaming service on the planet. We assumed Spotify support would be added eventually, but the company has now confirmed it will be snubbing Google’s new platform to concentrate on Spotify Connect instead.

HTC is rolling out a big update for its RE camera app tomorrow, which will enable the ability to live stream to YouTube. The feature is designed to let users share special moments with loved ones who can’t be there in real-time, and it’ll be available on Android first.

Popcorn Time for Android, the app that lets you stream movie and TV show torrents directly to your device, now allows you to download content and enjoy it offline. The much-anticipated feature is baked into Popcorn Time’s latest beta release, which also brings lots of bug fixes, adds support for physical keyboards, and lets you customize the color of your subtitles.

The YouTube music streaming service you’ve been hearing about for months is finally here. It’s called YouTube Music Key, and it lets subscribers stream and save high-quality music and music videos on the web and on Android and iOS devices. For now, however, you’ll need an invite to use it.
