Just days after announcing its new Gear S smartwatch, Samsung has revealed a second model with a little bit more bling. It’s part of the “Swarovski for Samsung” collection, and its strap is adorned with hundreds of crystals, representing “distinctive union of Swarovski craftsmanship and Samsung technological expertise.”

It’s called the G Watch R, and unlike the original G Watch, it sports an attractive stainless steel design with a more traditional circular watch face, and an interchangeable leather strap. It’s set to get its official unveiling at IFA 2014 next week, but it seems LG just couldn’t keep it under wraps any longer.
Asus will unveil its first Android Wear smartwatch at IFA 2014 in Berlin next month. Asus CEO Jerry Shen revealed the news to investors at a conference in Taiwan, reports claim, and he promised the device will look better than competing wearables from rival companies.
Sony’s third-generation SmartWatch will be announced at IFA 2014 in Berlin next month, according to a new report, and it will bring with it an improved display with a higher pixel density and built-in Wi-Fi. It will also have revamped software, sources claim, but Sony will not be adopting Google’s new Android Wear platform.
Samsung has already issued invites for a press event ahead of IFA 2014 next month, where the South Korean company will almost certain unveil the Galaxy Note 4. But we’re expecting a number of other devices, too — one of which could be the first SIM slot-equipped Gear Solo smartwatch, sources claim.
