If you’ve watched any of those Galaxy S5 or HTC One M8 unboxing videos that are now taking over YouTube, then you’ve probably seen their new startup screens that proudly display a “powered by Android” logo.

Google is now forcing handset makers to display this logo in a supposed effort to raise awareness of the Android brand, with many third-party interfaces making the platform unrecognizable.

HTC today released its Dot View companion app for Sense 6 via Google Play, again signaling its intentions to decentralize built-in apps and make them easier to update. The app works alongside the new Dot View case for the HTC One M8 to deliver handy information to the lock screen.

HTC today added a new entry-level handset to its Desire smartphone family. It’s called the Desire 310, and it’s the Taiwanese company’s first handset powered by a MediaTek processor. Other highlights include a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, and HTC BlinkFeed.
