Galaxy-Note-Jelly-Bean

An Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is currently making its way to international Samsung Galaxy Note devices in Canada and the United Kingdom. Users on Bell, Rogers, and TELUS in Canada have all seen the update, as have those with an unlocked device in the U.K.

Rogers is the latest Canadian company to broaden its horizons with the introduction of LTE. This week the carrier introduced LTE to 7 new markets, keeping the promise it made a fortnight ago.

It’s about time.

Galaxy S III owners in Canada have just been treated to an early Christmas gift, courtesy of Samsung. The company is now — finally! — rolling out its Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update over-the-air to those on Bell, Rogers, TELUS, and Virgin.

According to a source who spoke with Android Central, Rogers is preparing to announce an all new plan structure come tomorrow. A quick glance at the flyer depicting the new plans shows the familiar “unlimited talk” sell. Now that customers have become more data hungry and less dependent on voice, carriers have switched to offering “unlimited” voice and less data (yea, I know) — pawning the “unlimited” voice off as a value (when everyone knows it’s not).

Good news for our brothers to the North. Samsung Mobile Canada sent out a tweet today, announcing the availability of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Rogers and Telus. According to the less than 180 characters announcement, both Rogers and Telus will be carrying the Galaxy Nexus starting January 13th. That’s just one week away, and I’m sure one week too long for many.
