Google’s latest Nexus device traditionally get its newest Android updates first, but the software giant has been making Nexus 9 owners wait for Android 5.1.

Now, almost a month after the update made its initial debut, that wait is over.

OnePlus may be painfully slow at bringing Lollipop to the One, but third-party developers are not. The popular device just got its first unofficial CyanogenMod 12 ROM, which is based on Google’s latest Android 5.1 firmware.

Android 5.1 is already shipping on Android One devices in Indonesia, which means it’s coming soon to Google’s Nexus devices. One of its many improvements is the ability to promptly switch between Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections directly from the Quick Settings menu.

In case you needed proof that HTC is hard at work on bringing Android 5.0 Lollipop to its users, these screenshots give us an early glimpse at the Taiwanese company’s take on Google’s latest software. As you might expect, this is Lollipop with Sense 6, and it will already look pretty familiar to you.

AT&T is now rolling out its Android 4.4.3 KitKat update for the HTC One M8. It weighs in at over 660MB, and in addition to Google’s latest security patches, it brings numerous Sense 6 improvements — including optimizations for BoomSound and Motion Launch, and Extreme Power Saving mode.
