One-M8-4-4-3

HTC One M8 owners on T-Mobile are finally getting their Android 4.4.3 update today, which brings BoomSound improvements, Extreme Power Saving mode, and a number of important security fixes. The release also makes changes to several built-in apps, including Camera, Gallery, and Settings.

The quick settings pane is one of the most useful features in more recent versions of Android, giving users fast and easy to access to a whole bunch of shortcuts and toggles for different settings and functions. The only problem is, we all want quick access to different things — depending on how we use our phones — and Google’s stock options aren’t ideal for all.

Third-parties like Samsung and HTC have addressed this complaint by giving users the option to customize their quick settings pane, and a request in the official Android issue tracker suggests may finally do the same for Android L.

Nexus-4

Android 4.2.2 has been rolling out to a number of Nexus devices this week, and today it has popped up on the LG Nexus 4 for the first time. It brings all of the changes and improvements that the other devices are getting, and addresses a trick that allowed users to activate LTE on the device.

Google began rolling out its Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update earlier this week, and it looked as though the software would bring nothing more than a few important bug fixes. But after used their devices after upgrading, Nexus owners have begun to notice some changes throughout the OS.

In addition to better download notifications, Android 4.2.2 brings some changes to the Quick Settings pane, and a number of new notification sounds.
