We know Google is working on something special when it comes to the Nexus 5’s camera technology — the leaked images of its massive lens are proof of that. But what exactly can we expect from the upcoming device?

Well, according to data discovered in leaked Nexus 5 log files, it will boast an incredibly impressive “MEMS” (microelectromechanical) camera that allows you to refocus your images after they’ve been taken.

We already have a pretty good idea of what Google’s next-generation Nexus smartphone looks like, because it happened to leak the device itself in a video for its Android 4.4 KitKat statue unveiling. And we’ve seen it again a number of times since then — but I don’t think any of the leaked photos have been as clear as this one, which clearly shows off the back of the new device.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been itching to find out more about the LG Nexus 5 since it made an accidental appearance in the video for Google’s KitKat statue unveiling earlier this week. Fortunately for us, you can always rely on the FCC to tell the world about a secret, unreleased product weeks ahead of its official unveiling.

Codenamed the “D820,” the new device will have a 5-inch display, LTE connectivity, and a speedy Snapdragon 800 processor.

Google announced Android 4.4 KitKat on Tuesday, and it has become tradition for the company to erect a new statue on the lawn of its Mountain View headquarters with every major Android release. So we weren’t surprised to see the search giant upload a video of the statue’s unveiling to YouTube.

However, we were surprised to see what looks like Google’s next-generation Nexus smartphone towards the end of the video.

For Nexus users who love taking Photo Spheres, Google just made submitting and uploading them on Google Maps a little bit easier.

Prior to this revamp, users could only upload the 360-degree images from their Android devices, but now they will have the option to submit and view Photo Spheres from the web as well.
