Another important cause has come to light, one that needs our support just as much as fighting SOPA or any other anti-freedom attack brought by greed. An extremely important and personal part of owning tech, is having the ability to play with it, learn from it, and improve it. Not everyone sees it this way, and some even want to restrict what you can and can not do to these tech products well after you’ve purchased them and taken them home. There are many greedy companies out there that wish to keep users shackled to their products, and claim things like jailbreaking or rooting violates Section 1201 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).


Sega promised to bring its Sonic 4 franchise to Android and even showed off Episode 2 which is set to hit Tegra devices sometime this year. While that news was exciting, we were still missing the episode that started it all — Episode 1. Well guess what? That iconic blue hedgehog has spun his way into the Android Market and is ready to pick up where he and Knuckles left off.


What perfect timing. We were just talking about how the LG Spectrum (aka LG Optimus LTE) had surpassed over 1 million units sold. Of course that was mostly in Korea, as the LG Spectrum just hit shelves here in the US. Well, we have some good news for any of you interested in getting this hot device as Amazon Wireless is now offering the Spectrum for $80 when you sign up for a new two-year contract. There was an earlier report of Apple going after the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for violating its slide to unlock patent, which left most Android users scratching their heads. It was obvious that the new unlock feature in Ice Cream Sandwich was vastly different than the traditional slide to unlock, leaving many to chalk this up to another Apple patent trolling. Now we know this isn’t the case, thanks to a report in the Korean Herald, in which an unnamed Samsung official says:
