The new gold HTC One is now available to purchase SIM-free in the United Kingdom, thanks to Expansys. The device is priced at £479.99 ($794), which is a little pricey given the HTC One is almost a year old now, but it’s certainly a lot less than you’ll pay if you get it on a two-year contract.

Samsung’s new Galaxy S5 will make its debut on Sunday, February 23, one day before Mobile World Congress 2014, according to respected Russian tipster Eldar Murtazin.

The device is expected to introduce a new TouchWiz user interface on top of Android 4.4 KitKat, as well as new high-end specifications, an improved rear-facing camera, faster processors, and possibly even iris scanning technology that will allow users to unlock the device with their eyes.

Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy S5 will feature a 2K QHD display and iris scanning technology, and it will get its grand unveiling at Mobile World Congress next month, an unnamed “tipster” has claimed. Samsung is expected to maintain the plastic form factor we’ve seen from the rest of its smartphones, concentrating on improvements internally instead.

A mysterious new Sony smartphone that’s believed to be a successor to the flagship Xperia Z1 has been pictured in the wild ahead of its official unveiling. The device looks a lot like the Xperia Z1 and it carries the “D6503” model number, and it’s thought that Sony will announce the device at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of February.

HP is reportedly looking to compete with low-cost Android smartphones like the Google Nexus 5 and the Motorola Moto X with a new handset called the Slate 6. The device is expected to feature a quad-core processor and dual SIM card slots, and could be priced at under $200.
