Moto-X-colors

At today’s Moto G unveiling in São Paulo, Brazil, Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside confirmed that the Moto X will be updated to Android 4.4 KitKat “in a matter of weeks.”

It is also expected to come to other Motorola devices, including the DROID MAXX, DROID ULTRA, and DROID MINI, but it’s likely that owners of those devices will be forces to wait a little longer.

Motorola has today announced the midrange Moto G at an event in São Paulo, Brazil. The device looks a lot like its sibling, the Moto X, but it has a slightly smaller display and lesser specifications that make for a significantly cheaper price tag.

Google has announced that its latest Android 4.4 KitKat update is rolling out to the Wi-Fi Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013 models) and the Nexus 10 starting today. The update will be available to download over-the-air, and it will deliver all of the new Android features that made their debut on the Nexus 5 late last month.

I don’t know about you, but I was hoping Google would finally give us a battery percentage indicator in Android 4.4 KitKat. Sure, there are plenty of third-party apps that’ll do this in Google Play, but none are as clean or as simple as the baked-in solutions provided by the likes of Samsung and HTC.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be — but there is a way you can add a battery percentage indicator without rooting under Android 4.4. Just follow the steps below.

Nova Launcher, one of the most popular third-party launchers for Android, has a new beta release out today, which includes a number of new features and tweaks for Android 4.4 KitKat. In addition to transparent status and navigations bars, the update adds KitKat’s new home screen page indicators and app drawer icon, its folders, its font, and lots more.
