Today, Google has published the latest distribution figures of the Android operating system which ran over a 7-day period. The numbers reveal a consistent growth in the amount of Android users running Jelly Bean, whilst older versions of the OS continue on their path towards extinction. As anticipated, this months results also show a small amount of users running the latest software version, Android 4.4 KitKat.

Samsung Galaxy S4 users on NTT DoCoMo in Japan will begin to receive their Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update later this month. The update will add a number of new features and TouchWiz improvements, including support for the Galaxy Gear.

Update: Users that have already installed the bug infested 4.3 update should shortly receive a small patch upgrade via Samsung Kies.

Samsung is in the process of pushing out an over-the-air (OTA) update to all unlocked Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S III models located in Europe. This upgrade brings Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and a newer version of the TouchWiz user interface to these devices, in addition to a truckload of bug fixes and stability improvements.

British smartphone retailer Carphone Warehouse has today unveiled three new additions to its Galaxy S4 mini lineup in pink, orange, and purple. They’re identical to the original Galaxy S4 mini under the hood, and they’re available on all of the U.K.’s major carriers from £21 ($34) a month.

HTC really nailed it when it designed the flagship HTC One, and because the device has received so much praise, the Taiwanese company has followed it up with a whole host of alternatives in different sizes that carry the same look. The Desire 700 is the latest, but it’s vastly different from the rest.

It looks just like the One, but it’s made of plastic, not aluminum. It also has entry-level specifications coupled with a price tag that’ll make your eyes water.
