Samsung Galaxy S4 users on NTT DoCoMo in Japan will begin to receive their Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update later this month. The update will add a number of new features and TouchWiz improvements, including support for the Galaxy Gear.

The update will be largely identical to that which has been rolling out to international Galaxy S4 handsets over the past few months, so it’ll be well worth the wait. It might not be the latest version of Android, but it’ll certainly make your handset feel fresh and tide you over until Samsung is ready to rollout KitKat.

The update will be available in “mid-December” according to a Galaxy Gear announcement from DoCoMo, SamMobile reports. It will likely arrive over-the-air, but should be available to download through Samsung’s KIES application for Mac and PC, too.
