Motion Launch is one of my favorite Sense 6 features on the HTC One M8. I can’t tell you how much I miss it when I’m using other phones. But like all good things designed for Android, there’s now a third-party alternative for other devices.

If you have a phone with an OLED display, then you can use Knockr to bring Motion Launch gestures to your device — and you’ll be glad you did.

It is no secret that HTC is working on a mini version of the One (M8), just like it released one last year. Now, thanks to famed phone leaker @evleaks, we have our first look at how the HTC One mini 2 is going to look.

From the leaked press render, it is quite clear that the One mini 2 is ‘mini’ version of its bigger brother and unlike its predecessor, does not make use of any plastic to cut down on the manufacturing costs.

LG-G2

Over the past month or so, I’ve been asking friends and colleagues whether they’ll be choosing the HTC One M8 or the Samsung Galaxy S5 when it’s time to upgrade their smartphone. A number of the responses have surprised me. Rather than picking the latter — which I assumed most would — several told me they would be waiting for the LG G3 instead.

That wait will end on May 27, when LG will announce its new flagship at events held simultaneously in six cities around the world.

Just a month after the HTC One (M8) went on sale in the United States on all the major carriers, HTC and Sprint have teamed up to release a Harman Kardon edition One (M8).

This special-edition One is similar to the regular M8, except that it comes with a unique black anodized aluminum finish with champagne highlights and uses two special technologies from Harman Kardon to deliver better audio quality.

Nexus-4-smashed

I can’t wait to get my hands on the OnePlus One. Its design and specifications make it one of the most exciting smartphones we’ve seen this year; it’s equipped to compete with rivals like the HTC One M8 and the Samsung Galaxy S5. In addition, it’s a steal at $299.

But we know it’s not going to be easy to get hold of one — at least not initially.

You may be tempted to take part in the OnePlus “Smash the Past” competition that gives you the chance to win the new device by smashing up your old one, then — but it’s a downright stupid idea, and you shouldn’t even think about taking part.
