Google is said to be working on bringing Android Wear support to iPhone, but in the meantime, it’s up to third-party developers to marry the two.

One hack has already made it possible to display iOS notifications on Wear watches, and now it has been improved to take calls from your iPhone, too.

The nasty memory leak that has plagued Lollipop since the platform’s debut last fall is still lingering in the latest Android 5.1 release, according to some reports, but Google says it already has a fix for it.

The only problem is, it doesn’t yet know when it will be available to the public.

Google Messenger, the default SMS client for Nexus users and those with pure Android operating systems, now supports animated GIFs, allowing you to send awesome images like the one above to your friends. It also just got a great new widget.

While it may seem unlikely, it is possible for someone to intercept and steal your data when you browse the web on an open Wi-Fi network. But Google VPN, a feature’s that baked (but not yet enabled) into Android 5.1 is designed to prevent that from happening.

When Google launched its new online store just for devices on Wednesday, the Nexus 5 was dropped from its lineup. Now the search giant has confirmed that the handset has been discontinued, 17 months after it made its initial debut, and that its partners will sell remaining stock.
