Facebook Home hit Google Play on Friday, but it only comes with support for a small handful of devices initially — and those devices have to be located inside the United States. But as is often the case when it comes to Android, there is a workaround.

You can now download a patched version of the official Facebook Home release for any Android device. Here’s how.

Google launched a redesigned Google Play service last week, with a brand new look that better fits Android’s latest Holo user interface guidelines. The update is also intended to make it easier for you to discover apps, games, magazines, and other content, and it’s rolling out to Android devices now.

If you haven’t yet received the update — maybe because you’re outside of the U.S. — and you’re tired of waiting, you can install it manually. Here’s how.

Facebook Home may be launching on just five Android smartphones today — one of which hasn’t even hit stores yet — but one of its new features is now available to everyone. Chat Heads was just added to the Facebook Messenger app, making quicker and easier than ever to reply to messages and switch between conversations.

Google has today unveiled the Book Cover, its first official accessory for the Nexus 10. Priced at $29.99 and available on Google Play, the Book Cover clips into the back of the Nexus 10 and has a cover that folds over your display to protect it while it’s not in use.

Like the iPad’s Smart Cover, Google’s Book Cover automatically puts your Nexus 10 to sleep when you close it, then wakes it up again when you open it.

Google has announced that Google Play Music is now available in Austria, Australia, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, New Zealand, and Portugal. The free service, which allows you to store 20,000 tracks in the cloud, is accessible on Android, via a web browser on your computer, or via third-party apps on other platforms.
