Popular cloud gaming service Onlive has updated their Android app to include support for Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY’s slide-out game controls. The Onlive service offers on-demand top-tier console gaming streamed live to any supported Android device. Cloud based gaming is considered by many to be the future of gaming, and because everything is rendered server-side, users of “last year’s” hardware have the ability to play “this year’s” games.


Do you guys remember that bearded dragon we showed you? You know, the one playing ant smasher on his favorite Android device? Well it looks like he has some competition, and while his opponent shares an affinity for green and a hunger for ants, he’s not a reptile. That’s right, move over Larry* the Lizard, because Barry* the African bull frog is moving in, and he’s ready to eat anything (literally) that comes near his screen.

Grand Theft Auto III: Ten Year Anniversary Edition was released onto the Android Market only a few days ago and it’s already seeing a holiday discount. Now until December 29th, Rockstar Games is offering GTA III for only $2.99. This is an amazing deal for one of the most critically acclaimed open world franchises of all time. The Duke is back, and this time he wants to let us know he’s free of charge. This classic first person shooter had reviewers furious over its release into the Android Market. It drew intense criticism for debuting as one of the first paid apps to include ads. It only took them one day (and dozens of one star ratings) to realize the error of their ways and release an update to remove the ads. It would appear that wasn’t enough to appease users and garner excitement as they are now offering the game for free in the Android Market.

Well shiver me timbers! Disney recently released their latest social gaming app Pirates of the Caribbean to the Android Market and it’ll have you living the scurvy life you’ve always dreamed of (eye patch optional). Embark on quests wrapped around the lore from the Pirates of the Caribbean universe as you create ships, build crews and plunder your rivals.
