Archos-FamilyPad-2

Archos has announced that its new FamilyPad 2, the large 13.3-inch tablet that the company unveiled at CES, will be launching “very soon,” priced at €299 (approx. $389). The company confirmed the news in a post on its official Facebook page, but it didn’t say where the device would hit first.

Based on the price tag, however, we’re assuming Europe will see it first.

HTC-One-front

When HTC announced the new HTC One earlier this month, the company also announced its latest Sense 5 user interface alongside it. Now existing HTC smartphone owners are itching to know whether they’ll be getting it, too. Today the Taiwanese company has announced that a select number of devices will be upgraded in the future — but a lot of the specifics remain a mystery.

In an attempt to go head-to-head with the likes of iMessage and BBM in emerging markets, social network Facebook has just announced that it will be allowing users of its Messenger app to send messages at free or heavily discounted data rates.

Vine-iPhone

Vine, a new video sharing service from a small team owned by Twitter, has become a big hit since making its debut on the iPhone back in January, and we Android users want to know when we’re going to get a slice of the action. According to a new job listing from the company — which seeks a lead Android engineer — it won’t be too long before the service hits Google Play.

BBC-Sport-Android

The official BBC Sport app has finally landed on Android, more than six weeks after making its debut on the iPhone. Designed for devices that are 7 inches or smaller, it provides you with access to all of the content you’ll find on the BBC Sport website, but in a format that’s much easier to enjoy on a smaller display. It has dedicated sections for football (soccer), Formula 1, cricket, rugby, tennis, golf, and more.
