Over the last couple of years, Sony has opened up its stance and devices to developers, allowing the modding community around its devices to thrive. However, since most of the Xperia devices are not sold in the United States, the development community takes its own sweet time to reach its peak for the device.

More than a month after being unveiled, it is still near impossible to get your hands on the elusive OnePlus One. The initial batch of invites to buy the handset were sent earlier last week to a few lucky hundred people, but as it turns out, the company has once again delayed the shipping of their handset.

The Cyanogen team has pushed out its latest CyanogenMod 11 M7 upgrade for more than 50 devices. The update brings an improved Theme Chooser and Calculator app, the ability to secure apps with a passcode, and improvements for Bluetooth and low-memory devices.

Theme Showcase, the powerful customization engine that’s baked into CyanogenMod, will soon be available from Google Play. Its release will allow those who don’t use CyanogenMod custom ROMs to take advantage of its theming features, such as the ability to apply different fonts, icons, wallpapers, and even boot logos.

An official Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) custom recovery is now available for Sony’s new Xperia Z2, giving owners the opportunity to flash third-party ROMs and tweaks — such as CyanogenMod — and make complete backups of their device.
