The Duke is back, and this time he wants to let us know he’s free of charge. This classic first person shooter had reviewers furious over its release into the Android Market. It drew intense criticism for debuting as one of the first paid apps to include ads. It only took them one day (and dozens of one star ratings) to realize the error of their ways and release an update to remove the ads. It would appear that wasn’t enough to appease users and garner excitement as they are now offering the game for free in the Android Market.

Popular tower defense game Jelly Defense has received a nice holiday update to keep you in the spirit. Many of you were lucky enough to pick this game up when it was part of Google’s $.10 app deal so I’m sure you’ll certainly welcome the new additions. Earlier in the month Adobe updated its Flash Player to include support for Android 4.0 and while Adobe has already announced its discontinuation of the mobile Flash platform, it will continue supporting the AIR platform. Today Adobe updated their AIR application to also include support for Ice Cream Sandwich along with a few performance improvements and bug fixes. This update is a relief to many Galaxy Nexus owners as well as the many owners whose devices will be receiving the ICS update within the next couple of months.

WordPress for Android has been updated to version 2.0 and promises to make blogging on your Android device faster and easier. This newest version is chock full of new features including: tablet support, a new UI, and a new Post Editor. While these changes seem to make the whole experience more feasible, I still consider using my phone as a blogging tool to be a last resort option. On the other hand, Blogging from a 10.1″ tablet with laptop dock — something I could get used to.
