One of Apple’s most famous patents is slide-to-unlock, a method of waking up a touchscreen smartphone that has proven to be one of the most valuable in Apple’s arsenal. Now, Apple is trying to patent a similar system that would use gestures to unlock an iPhone. And if that sounds familiar, it should, because Android already does it.

Following in the footsteps of Apple and Samsung, LG is going to design its own smartphone and tablet processors.

The Korea company has teamed up with Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC, and according to a source familiar with its plans, the upcoming G3 flagship will be LG’s first smartphone powered by an in-house processor.

While you may think your new Galaxy S5 is super secure when using fingerprint authentication, you’d be surprised by how easily it can be fooled. Using ordinary wood glue, a team of security researchers were able to create a dummy fingerprint and not only unlock the Galaxy S5 but also gain access to its PayPal app.

Speculation surrounding an Amazon Kindle smartphone has been rife for the past few years, but it looks like the device is finally coming to fruition. These images show off a prototype of the upcoming handset, which is claimed to be one of at least two that are currently in development.
