BARCELONA, MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS 2012 — When we stopped by HTC’s booth today, we were impressed enough by HTC’s new line-up of One flagship phones, but what really caught our eye was some of the great stuff they were doing with Android software. HTC’s got a great new music app that unites all of your music whether stored locally or in the cloud; they’ve also got a great new camera app that can take fantastic stills from video. But what we really liked was what HTC was doing in the last mobile frontier, the automobile, with HTC Car.

Late last week, Valve released an official app for iOS and Android devices that allows gamers to stay connected to its Steam community wherever they may be. It was instantly popular with the Steam users who were able to gain access to it, but the only problem was, it was in beta testing and not many had that privilege.

But today the service is out of beta and available to all.


T-Mobile seems to be the last to make any sort of announcement regarding future plans and devices. After looking at the press release, I can see why. Not much going on over at T-Mo other than an expanded 4G network, an enhanced Bobsled messaging service, and another Samsung Galaxy variant. But hey, let’s not hang them out to dry, stay tuned for a few of the specifics after the break.

Yahoo has finally released an official Flickr app for Android. The app describes itself as a “shoot-and-share” application for Android users. Photos can be edited with retro, Instagram-like filters and then shared with a variety of social networks.
