HTC M8

The HTC One M8 broke cover roughly a week ago in the U.S., UK and the company’s home region of Taiwan. While there are no sales figures available for its sales in the U.S. or the UK at the moment, retailers in Taiwan are claiming that the smartphone is moving along quite well.

Samsung hopes to attract new parents to its upcoming Galaxy S5 with a built-in “baby crying detector” that provides a vibrating alert when it hears a crying baby.

The new feature, which wasn’t mentioned during Samsung’s press unveiling in Barcelona last month, is just of one of many Galaxy S5 accessibility options designed to help those with a hearing impairment.

HTC recently brought a bunch of Sense 6 apps to Google Play in an effort to make them easier to update individually as and when they needed it. These apps are currently only available to customers with a new HTC One M8 — at least officially — but as you may have anticipated, they’re now available to other Android-powered devices unofficially.

Apple and Samsung will return to federal court in Silicon Valley today for the next round of their seemingly never-ending patent war.

The two rivals will face off once again before District Court Judge Lucy Koh, presiding in the California city of San Jose.

Koh was the same judge who presided over the previous Apple vs. Samsung trial, which ended with a jury deciding that Samsung owed Apple more than $1 billion in damaging for infringing on patents — although this number was later trimmed to $929 million.

HTC announced its latest flagship smartphone, the One (M8) in the United States last Tuesday, March 25, and went on sale at several major operators soon after the official press conference. Although the manufacturer showed off a bunch of new accessories including the new Dot View case during the press-only event, customers were disappointed when they headed down to their local electronics store, only to find that they had not yet been released.

Fortunately, HTC has today announced that the Dot View case for the One (M8) is now available to purchase from both its online store and from several independent retailers spread across the United States. The case is currently on sale for $49.99 which seems a little steep and is only available in the Warm Black colorway for now, so if you’re hoping to get your hands on one of the 5 other colors, you’ll have to wait a little while longer.
