HTC Butterfly

The HTC Butterfly is over a year and a half old and it was one of the first Android handsets to sport a 1080p display back in 2012. Most users of the smartphone had given up hopes of seeing the Android 4.4 update, but HTC has now confirmed that an update is on the horizon via its official Facebook page.

Sony’s skin on its Xperia devices has never been considered a bloatware with its core apps always being praised for their beautiful and functional design. Usually, with time most of the core apps on Sony devices are easily ported to other Android devices as well.

With the Xperia Z2 system dump being released back in February, it was only a matter of time before some developers managed to port the core apps to other devices.

Thanks to low-cost devices like these, the sales volume of the company is pretty high. And according to new figures published by the company, it has sold over 11 million smartphones in 2014 already, which is a remarkable feat considering that we’re only three months into the year.

Google added the ability to take screenshots in Android with Ice Cream Sandwich back in 2011. However, recording on-screen content natively was not possible and even many rooted apps failed to work properly, even though they promised otherwise.

Thankfully, with Android 4.4 KitKat, Google has added the ability to natively record on-screen content without any kind of hackery.
