The latest Flipboard update introduces support for Android 4.2 Jelly Bean’s new Daydream feature, allowing users to view their news headlines while their device is charging. The Flipboard app becomes your screensaver, updating automatically over Wi-Fi to display the latest news stories.

Samsung has produced some of the most popular Android-powered smartphones in recent years, and its flagship Galaxy S III has been one of the most successful devices of the past 12 months. But just how successful are they? Well, Samsung announced on Monday that it has now sold more than 100 million smartphones from its Galaxy S series, with more than 40 million Galaxy S III units shipped in just seven months.

So the Consumer Electronics Show is over for another year, and for those who’ve been in Las Vegas covering it for us, it’s back to normality. While we allow the Cult of Mac team to sober up, it’s time to look back at the best gizmos CES had to offer. There were thousands of products on show — far too many to cover in one week — but there were a handful that really stood out.

Google has begun rolling out its latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean upgrade to the LG Nexus 4. The software is currently reaching handsets located in Brazil and Malaysia, according to reports, but it’s likely it will also appear in other countries relatively quickly. Unlike Android updates for third-party handsets, Google’s don’t have to go through carrier testing.

Microsoft’s Windows operating system is often mocked for its blue screen of death, the dreaded error message that appears on an all-too-often basis when attempting to work the computer too hard. And now it seems the company’s Windows Phone platform has a nasty error message of its own.

This particular error message, spotted on the HTC 8X, rather hilariously asks you to “insert your Windows installation disk” and “repair your computer” to continue.
