Every successful company has one massively great idea upon which all their success is based.

Google’s massively great idea is that amazing algorithms plus overwhelming compute power can solve just about any problem.

Apple’s massively great idea is that horrible content-consumption experiences can be fixed with blank-slate thinking and well-designed hardware-software-service combinations.

And Microsoft’s massively great idea, which preceded Google’s by decades, is that software does not want to be free. Software wants to be profitable and hardware wants to be a zero-margin commodity. The “secret sauce” for this approach, which enabled Microsoft to dominate for years, is that making more money on software lets you spend more on new software products, which gives you an advantage in emerging software markets.

Back in April, Samsung announced two new super-sized smartphones called the Galaxy Mega — one of which had a 5.8-inch display, the other a 6.3-inch display. Following the announcement, fans suggested that the devices were far too big to be used as every day smartphones, and there was some speculation about whether Samsung would actually launch them.

We’re still yet to see them, but it appears one just passed through the Bluetooth SIG on its way to market.

Any Android developer would agree that there is only one major flaw with Google’s current developer console – it’s lacking ability to give developers a snapshot of their application’s performance. Whilst some statistics are available to developers, there are no short reports available to view; instead you have to go through a long process to receive a minimal amount of statistics.

Cloud.TV have been working behind the scenes to develop an application that’s capable of providing statistics of any application on the Play Store. The application is still in beta, so there’s still a few issues that need sorting out – but from what I can see App Stats is a very promising app.
