Remember MoDaCo.SWITCH, the awesome little tweak that allows you to switch between your smartphone’s default ROM and stock Android on the fly? We wrote about it late last month when it first came to the HTC One, and now it’s available on the Galaxy S4, too.

It just got its first beta release, and those who backed the project on Indiegogo will be the first to gain access.

The Chrome Beta for Android has today been updated to version 30 this week, adding a number of new features, fixes, and improvements. In addition to universal image search, it also adds new gestures for switching tabs, and a helpful easy zoom feature.

Sony has officially leaked a magnified image of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Z1 (code-named ‘Honami’), just 3 weeks prior its scheduled launch at the IFA which is due to take place in Berlin, Germany. The picture was tweeted by Sony’s official Xperia account on Twitter, but unfortunately it does not reveal much about the handset. In actual fact, the photo only displays a very elegantly designed power button.

I don’t think I’ve ever downloaded an app that comes with an instruction manual, but it seems BlackBerry felt the need to create one for its upcoming BBM releases for Android and iOS. We’re expecting the apps themselves to arrive any day now, but the user guides have been leaked and they are already available for reading online.

Amazon has today kicked off a massive Kindle Fire fire sale with savings of up to 25% on its tablet. The sale kicked off at 6 a.m. PDT today, and it will run all day. It doesn’t just include Kindle Fire tablets, but also cases, styluses, and other accessories, too.
