Samsung looks to be preparing its own extended warranty plans that will provide additional coverage for its smartphones, tablets, and other consumer electronics, according to a new trademark registered with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

Called “Protection Plus,” the service is expected to offer the same kind of protection that is available to iPhone, iPad, and iPod users with AppleCare+.

Two weeks ago, Amazon U.S. officially announced that it has started shipping Google’s latest handset-to-TV dongle, the Chromecast, to the U.K. and Australia, and now reports are flying in suggesting that the team at Mountain View have made the official Chromecast for Android app available to download internationally.

HTC-One-Android-4-2-2

HTC has confirmed that its Android 4.3 update will be reaching HTC One handsets in the United Kingdom in “3-5 weeks.” The news comes just days after the Taiwanese company began rolling out the new software in the United States and Canada.

Venue 7

Last week Dell officially announced two new Android-powered mid-range tablets, and now they are available to purchase online from the manufacturers online shopping portal. The Venue 7 is listed for $150, and the Venue 8 is retailing for the slightly higher price of $180.

HTC-One-software-updates

Last week, the President of HTC America, Jason Mackenzie, took to Twitter to announce that the much-anticipated Android 4.3 update for the T-Mobile U.S. branded HTC One would roll out by the “middle” of last week. But unfortunately for T-Mo customers that did not happen as planned. For an unspecified reason, the update has been unexpectedly delayed until today, Monday, October 21, when it is expected to roll out sometime before this afternoon.
