“They did what to the icons?”

Android chief Sundar Pichai has revealed on Twitter that he is “excited” to try out the new iOS 7 beta that Apple released to registered developers following its WWDC keynote on Monday. He’s even willing to splash $99 on a developer account to get early access to it.

Samsung is said to be planning a 12.2-inch variant of its Galaxy Note tablet for the third quarter of 2013 in an effort to compete with the rumored “iPad maxi.” The Korean electronics giant reportedly wants to be first to produce a larger slate.

I think we can all agree that Google I/O this year was a huge success, but though many people attended, most of us didn’t get the opportunity. However, Google’s live-streams enables us all to view the I/O events in real-time. Google thought it would be nice to give people the opportunity to ‘relive the magic moments’ in a 5-minute highlight video.

Google is again rumored to be closing in on a $1.3 billion acquisition of social mapping service Waze, just a month after it was reported that the Israeli startup was in “advanced talks” with Facebook. Google already has an office in Israel, and it’s thought that Waze’s social focus could be a good step forward for Google Maps.

Today it has announced the new Galaxy Ace 3, its latest entry-level smartphone with a 4-inch display, LTE, and 8GB of internal storage.
