Well, that little dream didn’t last long.

Nintendo has denied plans to bring mini games to smartphones and tablets in an effort to promote its latest console titles. Sources had claimed that the Japanese company was set to announce new mobile offerings later this week, but as many will have suspected, that’s not going to happen.

Samsung has confirmed that it is working on QHD (2K) smartphone displays with ultra high-definition resolutions just weeks before it is set to announce the Galaxy S5. At least one model of the South Korean company’s upcoming flagship is expected to feature a QHD panel, which will boast an incredible 2560×1440 resolution.

Amazon has today announced that it is giving Appstore developers the opportunity to charge for HTML5 web apps in almost 200 countries worldwide. The changes will apply to both new releases, as well as those already available to download from the Appstore.

Nintendo is finally ready to swallow its pride and begin developing games and other content for mobile devices, according to a new report from Japan. It’s still unlikely we’ll ever see full Super Mario or Zelda titles, but sources say will will get free mini-games, trailers, and more to promote new Nintendo releases on its own consoles.

Samsung has promised that it will roll out another Galaxy Note 3 update to fix the third-party case issues brought about by its Android 4.4 KitKat release. Since the South Korean company began seeding KitKat to the Galaxy Note 3 last week, those with third-party cases that offer “S-View” functionality have suddenly stopped working.
