Xperia Sirius Video -1

The Sony Xperia Sirius is gearing up for a launch later this month, and according to some new leaked screenshots, the smartphone will feature the ability to record videos at 60 frames per second in addition to the standard 30 FPS video recording.

These screenshots also reveal the presence of a 15.5MP manual camera mode with 16:9 aspect ratio and the ability to take 20.7MP and 8MP shots at 4:3 aspect ratios, which should make for great low resolution photos.

App-Ops-CM-11

CyanogenMod 11 users will have the ability to prevent Android apps from automatically starting when their handset launches, thanks to the system’s built-in App Ops feature. The setting was introduced with the most recent nightly builds of CM11 and announced by the CyanogenMod team on Google+.

HTC promised last July that it would focus all of its efforts on high-end devices in an effort to turn its struggling smartphone business around, but having tasted little success with that approach, it is now going to make more affordable midrange handsets its priority instead.

Chialin Chang, HTC’s Chief Financial Officer, told Reuters that the Taiwanese firm is looking to sell products in $150-$300 price range.

Snapdragon Glance

Android users have a variety of third-party lock screens to choose from, which speaks volumes about the versatility of the platform. Today we can add one more to that list with the launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Glance.

Glance is slightly different from conventional lock screens as it learns from usage and provides information accordingly, in addition to displaying notifications.

Verizon Nexus 7

The 2013 Nexus 7 currently supports T-Mobile and AT&T’s 4G LTE networks in the U.S., with the Verizon variant being delayed indefinitely due to lack of certification. But it now seems like this variant isn’t far away from launch, as a few leaked images have revealed the outer covering of the Nexus 7 with the Verizon branding prominently visible.
