Samsung-flip-phone

Flip phones like the incredibly successful Motorola RAZR were once some of the hottest handsets you could own, but that all changed when the iPhone kicked off the touchscreen smartphone craze back into 2007. A new report claims Samsung is looking to combine the two for an Android-powered flip phone called the Galaxy Folder.

Wirefly has discounted the price of the Verizon DROID RAZR to $49.99 for anyone willing to sign up for a new two-year contract. While I’d personally go with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (which they are also offering for $49.99), if for some reason you’re in the market for a DROID RAZR, this is good deal. It’s on par with what Amazon Wireless is charging for the RAZR and is $50 less what you’d pay over at Verizon.

Verizon has posted up the changelog for an upcoming Motorola DROID RAZR/RAZR MAXX update that should begin rolling out soon. Generally speaking, these updates go out about a week after the changelog goes up so it shouldn’t be too long. Unfortunately this isn’t the Ice Cream Sandwich update everyone has been waiting for. Instead, it features:

Yesterday, Ice Cream Sandwich was supposed to roll out to Motorola’s RAZR and RAZR MAXX on Verizon, according to a shot of Best Buy’s internal system. However as you’ve probably noticed, April 4th passed with no update in sight. Today we have another look at Best Buy’s internal systems, which confirms that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the RAZR and RAZR MAXX has been delayed.

Owners of the Verizon Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX will be happy to hear that your device isn’t that far from officially being upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich. While the upgrade was available through, unofficial, custom ROMs, it will officially be rolling out to those handsets April 4th, according to a spy shot of Best Buy’s internal systems. The HTC Rezound will be the following handset to be upgraded, on April 6th.
