Toshiba announced the Excite Write, Excite Pro and Excite Pure back in June, and now at last, the trio is officially available to purchase in the U.S. Unlike many of the latest Android tablets on the market, this range of Toshiba devices offer more for your money.

Rumors surrounding the Sony Xperia Tablet Z first surfaced last week, and we expected Sony to confirm them at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month. But in Japan on Monday morning, the new flagship tablet was unveiled. And boy, does it look good.

Last time anyone heard from Toshiba, Ice Cream Sandwich wasn’t going to hit its 10-inch Toshiba Thrive tablet until sometime in the Fall. Luckily Toshiba realized that summer was a much more appropriate time for Ice Cream Sandwich, and has surprised Thrive users with the tasty Android treat a bit earlier than expected.


Toshiba unveiled their 7.7, 10.1, and 13.3-inch Excite tablets today and there happens to be a familiar image in the plethora of press shots sent from Toshiba. That’s right, you’re looking at that rumored Google Nexus tablet image PocketNow got their hands on last week. Oh well, I guess we’ll just have to wait for the next rumored image to unveil itself before getting all excited again. However, what we do have, is a set of new tablets from Toshiba that deserve our attention.


Toshiba is finally bringing its super thin tablet to the U.S. market after many trade floor showings and a minor name change. Previously known as the Excite X10, Toshiba has been touting this device as the world’s thinnest and lightest 10″ tablet available. At only 0.3 inches (7.7mm) thick and weighing just 1.18 pounds (535g), it certainly has reason to brag, but as we all know, being the thinnest doesn’t always equate to being the best.
