Communication during and after a devastating event such as Hurricane Sandy can be crucial. Not only does it open the lines between yourself and emergency personnel, but it also allows for loved ones to know how you are doing. That’s why AT&T and T-Mobile have entered into an agreement to enable roaming on their networks to customers of both companies in the New York/New Jersey area affected by hurricane Sandy.

T-Mobile is the first US carrier to offer up the new Samsung Galaxy Note II and let me tell you… it ain’t cheap. Anyone willing to sign a 2-year contract can nab a subsidized Galaxy Note for $369.99, while anyone brave enough to go full retail can grab it for $649.99. It certainly is a nice device, however, I’d have to wait on a deal before thinking about adding it to my arsenal.

Wirefly is at it again! Last week they brought us the DROID RAZR HD and MAXX HD at the stroke of midnight for well below Verizon’s price, and tonight, they’ll be offering up the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note II — and you can bet it’ll be less than T-Mobile’s price.

Well what do we have here? It appears T-Mobile is holding a showcase in NYC on October 29 — yep, the same day as Google’s Android event as well as Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 event. Coincidence? Maybe… maybe not. Before we get ahead of ourselves, there’s no mention of T-Mobile having anything to do with the Google event, so the chances of them having first dibs on whatever Google announces is unlikely.

SoftBank sees Sprint deal as the fastest route into the U.S.

Japan’s third-largest carrier is reportedly in talks to buy control of Sprint, according to two people familiar with the matter. SoftBank wants to snap up two-thirds of the company with a stake worth “more than” 1.5 trillion yen ($19 billion), and it’s also eyeing Sprint’s partner, Clearwire, too.
