AT&T has halted its rollout of the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update for the HTC One M8, just days after it began releasing it to customers over-the-air. It seems the current build introduces a nasty bug that causes severe battery drain, and AT&T hasn’t yet confirmed when a new one will be available.

Some smartphone manufacturers know how to make midrange devices that are actually worth your money, and the new Nubia 5S mini LTE from ZTE is one of them. It looks good and it’s affordable at $279 off-contract, and yet it’s surprisingly impressive under the hood.

If you’re an HTC One M8 owner on Verizon, it seems your Android 4.4.3 upgrade is going to take a great deal longer than originally anticipated. A GPS issue has led to delays in the software’s rollout, but HTC expects Verizon users to begin receiving it by mid-September.

Device Unlock, the new app that will allow T-Mobile customers to quickly and easily unlock their smartphones when their contract is up, is now available to download from Google Play. You probably won’t be able to use it just yet, however, because it seems it’s initially only compatible with just one handset.
