LG-E435

LG is expected to announce a number of new devices at Mobile World Congress later this month, one of which could be the LG E435, an entry-level smartphone with dual-SIM capabilities that looks pretty miniature in comparison with the rest of today’s devices. The handset has already shown its face, its back end, and its innards in a number of leaked photographs that began circulating this weekend.

That slightly odd looking device above is called the Constellation Ti, and it’s the first Android handset from luxury smartphone brand Vertu. It hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s already been appearing in benchmark tests and regulator databases in Singapore and Macau. Several pictures of the device — showing off all four variants — have also been published online by one Russian retailer.

The Constellation Ti is expected to get its unveiled at Mobile World Congress next month, and like all other Vertu handsets, it’s likely to cost tens of thousands of dollars.

Although Mozilla has stated that it won’t produce hardware for its upcoming Firefox OS, the company has teamed up with Spanish startup Geeksphone to offer a pair of developer devices. Called Keon and Peak, the devices are designed to provide developers with the opportunity to “tap the future of mobile” and get to grips with the platform that will soon be trying to steal marketshare from Android and iOS.

Pantech announced a brand new smartphone for AT&T earlier this week, and it appears the Korean manufacturer also has something up its sleeve for Verizon. The device you see pictured above is the Pantech Perception, and it’s set to make its debut this quarter. Like the Pantech Discovery for AT&T, we’re expecting a 720p display, a speedy dual-core processor, and indeed an attractive price tag.

If the lack of a quad-core processor had you balking at the idea of purchasing a stateside HTC One X, you might want to take a look at the following benchmarks because the results of the Snapdragon S4 version show that quad-core isn’t everything. A forum member over at Android Central was able to give us a look at some early benchmarks using an AT&T HTC One X and Vellamo and Quadrant benchmark tools. The results are astonishing and have the S4 destroying quad-core powerhouses such as the ASUS Transformer Prime.
