Asus clearly has an issue. It cannot make a device that has just one purpose. One of its tablets is also a phone, the other turns into a laptop, and its smartphone transforms into a tablet. Now the Taiwanese company has a Windows 8 desktop that’s also an Android tablet.

Google’s latest Jelly Bean platform has been available for just under eight months now, but like its predecessors, it’s been slow to make its way to Android smartphones and tablets. That’s not Google’s fault — it’s own Nexus devices get the latest releases almost as soon as they’re available — but Android hardware manufacturers are, unfortunately, notoriously slow at updated their devices.

Nevertheless, Jelly Bean’s market share is growing. According to Google’s latest data, it’s now installed on 16.5% of devices.

There are a number of images making their way around the web this morning that supposedly depict the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S IV. Some believe them to be genuine Samsung renders that have been leaked ahead of the handset’s grand unveiling — but they’re not.

In fact, they’re nothing more than retailer mockups that are being used to promote the device while the official shots are unavailable.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 was one of the bigger announcements at Mobile World Congress last week, and we had fun with it during our hands-on. If you’re not a fan of white tablets, however, you may have been disappointed that this was the only color Samsung had on show.

But it may not be the only color Samsung launches this month. A Charcoal Black version of the Galaxy Note 8.0 has appeared in a leaked press photo that’s quickly been making its way around the web.

Good news! If you’re planning to pick up the new HTC One when it makes its debut in the coming months, you won’t need to worry about getting a successor just three months later. An HTC executive has today confirmed that the device will be the company’s only flagship smartphone of 2013.
