Asus Transformer AiO: A Windows 8 PC That Transforms Into An Android Tablet
Asus clearly has an issue. It cannot make a device that has just one purpose. One of its tablets is also a phone, the other turns into a laptop, and its smartphone transforms into a tablet. Now the Taiwanese company has a Windows 8 desktop that’s also an Android tablet.
Meet the Transformer AiO.
The Transformer AiO is an all-in-one Windows 8 desktop that has a special selling point: when you’re done working at your desk, you can lift off its screen and you have yourself an 18.4-inch Android tablet that weights 5.2 pounds.
Don’t ask me why; I don’t know.
The Transformer AiO is available with Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 processor, either 1TB or 2TB of hard drive storage, and between 4GB and 8GB of RAM… when it’s a desktop. When it’s a tablet, it’s powered by a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, and 32GB of storage.
If you want to, you can use also use Windows 8 on the tablet using the built-in Remote Desktop software.
The Transformer AiO will begin shipping on April 12 in the United States, and it’s priced at $1,299.
