HTC-Zara

Zara, a new midrange smartphone from HTC that has been the subject of speculation for several weeks, has been leaked ahead of its official unveiling. The 4.5-inch device is expected to come with Android 4.3 pre-installed, and could be the first HTC handset to run the latest Sense 5.5 user interface.

After keeping us waiting for several month, Verizon has finally confirmed that it will be selling the HTC One online and in stores starting Thursday, August 22. The device will be priced at $199.99 with a two-year contract, which is the same price Verizon charges for the One’s biggest competitor, the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Now that Google Play edition ROMs are available for the HTC One, you can choose whether you want the stock Android experience free from third-party tweaks, or whether you want to stick with all the features that come with Sense 5, such as BlinkFeed and HTC Zoe.

But how do you decide? Both options have their advantages and disadvantages, and choosing one over the other can be tricky. Fortunately, you no longer have to, thanks to MoDaCo.SWITCH.

MoDaCo.SWITCH is a new tweak from MoDaCo that installs both HTC’s version of Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5 and all the wonderful features that comes with it, and Google’s stock Android 4.2.2 ROM on your HTC One. It then lets you quickly switch between them on the fly.

Sense fans in Taiwan can now gain access to HTC’s latest Sense 5 user interface on a budget, thanks to the new Desire 500. The midrange device boasts a 4.3-inch WVGA display and a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, and it’s currently one of the cheapest ways to get your hands on BlinkFeed.

HTC appears to be gearing up to add a new entry-level handset to its 2013 smartphone lineup. Although it hasn’t officially been announced yet, the Desire 200 has today popped up on the company’s website, confirming a number of recent leaks.
