HTC does some pretty terrific things — its One M8 is a prime example of that. But it does some downright ridiculous things, too, like producing its own rap videos.

Yes, you read that right; the Taiwanese company has produced its own rap video that explains the many advantages the One M8 has over its rivals, and trashes competing products like the iPhone 6 and Samsung’s Galaxy S5.

For the first time since making its public debut last November, Android 5.0 Lollipop has finally pushed its way into the latest Android distribution figures. 1.6 percent of devices are now running Google’s latest operating system, but Jelly Bean continues to cling onto the largest share.

Motorola’s latest handsets continue to be an incredible success worldwide, helping the company sell more than 10 million handsets during the third quarter of 2014.

It’s a record for the Moto maker, which saw its revenue reach new highs during Q3. Lenovo, which acquired Motorola from Google last year, said it was able to beat investor expectations for smartphone sales, which were already more than doubled for this quarter.

Samsung has sent out media events for a March 1st event right before Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Korean company is widely expected to debut the Samsung Galaxy S6, and judging by the invitation, the flagship device will feature a flexible display like the Galaxy Note Edge.

The smartphone business hasn’t been so hot for Samsung in recent quarters, with the iPhone eating the Galaxy’s lunch on the high end and aggressive competitors like Xiaomi squeezing in at the low end. This event will be Samsung’s shot to prove that the Galaxy lineup hasn’t lost its mojo.
