Samsung and Rovio were on hand at SXSW today to give people an early hands-on with the upcoming Angry Birds Space. This next iteration of Angry Birds aims to turn the series upside down with out-of-this-world levels and gravity challenged gameplay. This won’t be your average Angry Birds experience and that’s why Samsung has teamed up with Rovio to demo Angry Birds Space’s unique gameplay on an equally unique device — the Samsung Galaxy Note. It’s also a chance for Rovio and Samsung to announce the exclusive Angry Birds content coming to the Galaxy Note once the game is released.

If you’re into benchmarks, you may be interested in the latest results from the Intel powered Santa Clara set to hit France in June. We’re all curious to see how Intel’s new Medfield chips perform and whether or not they will shake up the mobile market as they claim they will. A German blogger recently took the Santa Clara for a spin through Rightware and Vellamo, both of which are browser benchmark tools. Rightware tests the browser’s performance in JavaScript and HTML rendering. The Intel chip performed quite nicely, scoring a 89180 which is slightly better than the iPhone 4S (87801) but still well under the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (98272).

Verizon’s 12-day “DROID Does” sale is winding down and there’s only 4 days left to take advantage of the numerous DROID phones on sale for $9.99. While I’m sure Verizon is doing this to clear out some stock, it’s still a good deal for anyone looking to pick up a solid device on the cheap. Verizon is offering up the 4G LTE Samsung DROID Charge, the DROID 3, DROID Incredible 2, and DROID X2 all for $9.99 on a new 2-year contract. Not bad considering these devices retail for $400+.

In a move that would surely have Steve Jobs — the man willing to go thermonuclear war against Android — rolling over in his grave, Apple has apparently offered licensing deals to Samsung and Motorola in an attempt to settle ongoing and future patent suits. According to sources speaking with Dow Jones Newswires, Apple has offered licensing deals in the tune of $5 to $15 per device or the equivalent of 1% to 2.5% of net sales per device. Interestingly enough, these fees are on par with what Apple deemed “unreasonable” after attempts to license patents from Motorola.

Verizon today announced a list of devices they expect to receive the Android 4.0 update. Many manufacturers have already confirmed this information but it’s always nice to hear it straight from a carriers mouth. While no official dates have been given, the list includes devices from HTC, Motorola, Samsung and LG. You can find the full list after the break so stay tuned to see if your Verizon device was given the thumbs up from Big Red.
