Today, Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Note 3 ‘Olympic Games Edition’. The Note 3 is the ‘official handset’ of the Winter Olympics Games, scheduled to take place in Sochi, Russia between 6 and 23 February, 2014, and as you’d expect the South Korean company will be providing all athletes with a complimentary handset.

When Samsung had unveiled the Galaxy Note 3 in IFA last year, rumors were floating around that the company was planning to restrict the functionality of third-party accessories with the device. The company, however, did not take any such ‘Apple’ like decision of blocking third party accessories with its devices until now.

With the recently released KitKat update for the Galaxy Note 3 though, Samsung has restricted third party accessories from working properly on the device.

Samsung has confirmed that its new rose gold Galaxy Note 3, which was announced back in December, will be exclusive to Verizon when it goes on sale in the U.S. Aside from its new paint job, the device is identical to the original Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung unveiled its ultra-portable Galaxy Tab 3 variant, the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, back in April, 2013, and two months later the device was available in the U.K. from several retailers for £179. However, if you haven’t had the opportunity to pick one up before now, you may be pleased to hear that Very, the independent online retailer is currently offering the device with an £60 reduction.
