Today, Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Note 3 ‘Olympic Games Edition’. The Note 3 is the ‘official handset’ of the Winter Olympics Games, scheduled to take place in Sochi, Russia between 6 and 23 February, 2014, and as you’d expect the South Korean company will be providing all athletes with a complimentary handset.

The Olympic Games Edition is only currently available in the Netherlands from Dutch carrier KPN, but is expected to make it’s way to more European market pretty soon, however, Samsung has not specified any dates or operators as of yet. In terms of additional contents, this special edition Note 3 ships with Olympic-branded packaging, tickets for skating sessions in the Amsterdam Olympic Stadium, an exclusive S View Flip Cover and free entry into a competition to win an all expenses paid trip to the Sochi Winter Olympics.

There are no changes with regards to the handsets internals, the device continues to pack a whopping 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 800 or Exynos Octa Core processor (market dependant), the latest Adreno 330 GPU, a colossal 3GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via the included microSD card with this promotion), a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a removable 3,200 mAh Li-Ion battery.

The phablet still ship running the latest build of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean skinned with Samsung’s custom TouchWiz user interface – which means the Note 3 has some of the latest and greatest software features on the market to date, including: My Magazine, Advanced Multi Window, Pen Window, Air Command, Scrapbook, Action Memo and S Finder.
